Aaron A. Barnes, Iii

March 15, 1968 — January 3, 2025

Aaron Andre Barnes, III (Chucky) on January 3rd, 2025, was called home to rest in

God's loving arms. Aaron was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 15, 1968, to

the late Aaron Barnes JR and Loraine Rushing Barnes of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Aaron was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Olympic High School

where he was a member of the JROTC program. He went on to join the ARMY, where he served as SGT for 15 years in field artillery. Before his passing, Aaron worked at Southern Concrete for more than 23 years, and at Carolina Ready Mix. While at

Carolina Ready Mix, Aaron made treasured friendships and was an integral part of

the dispatch team. Aaron strived for excellence, had great determination, and led by

example.

Aaron had a passion for cars, and trucks. At any given moment you could find him in

his garage, with a big coat and boots on, working on one of his many trucks. He

enjoyed visiting Myrtle Beach in his spare time and watching NASCAR racing where Jeff Gordon was his favorite racer. His favorite college basketball team was the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Aaron was a loving husband, father, and brother. Aaron's sheer determination,

brilliance, competitive nature, and resilience attributed to his success. His awareness, fortitude, and intellect were exemplary, and his kindness resonated throughout his beautiful life. His persistent pursuit of excellence garnished his leadership roles academically, athletically, and professionally, which earned him numerous accolades and success. Tenacity, he was born with it; but he also was loyal, observant, and grounded in faith.

Aaron was preceded in death by his father and mother, Aaron Andre Barnes JR and Lorraine Rushing Barnes, Uncle Buddy, four aunts: Cindy, Peggy Anne, Carolyn and Thomasina, also his cousins Elliot, Sorbrina, Tom, and Allen Rushing.
