Alice C. Drakeford

August 1, 1946 — October 9, 2023

Alice "Gent" Cowan Drakeford was born on August 1, 1946 in Anderson SC to the late Dave and Lois Cowan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded into eternal rest by her brother, Samuel Cowan.


Alice A.K.A. "Gent" was a loving and devoted mother. She loved and cared for her kids, and even their friends.  Alice graduated from Second Ward High School. She worked for Atlantic Envelope Company for 28 years before retiring. Gent was the life of the party! She enjoyed cooking, playing cards with her family and going to casinos.


Alice leaves to cherish her memories:
Her only son, Jackie Drakeford Jr. (Shanna), Shenna Drakeford (Kevin), and Chanta Perry (Bodrick). Six grandchildren; D'Andreis Drakeford (Ashleigh), CJ Drakeford, Joshua Allen, Justin Durant, Ta'Shay Kyle and Shanise Perry. Four great-grandchildren; Skyler Drakeford, Dakota Drakeford, Legend Brown and Morgan Drakeford. One brother, James "Howard" Cowan (Lillie). One nephew, James "Scooner" Cowan and one niece Kisha Cowan, whom she loved like they were her own. Her cousins Cary Martin, Bertha Gilbert, Sue Bolden, Doris Stowers and Linda McVay were like her siblings. She also had 2 lifelong friends, Vergie Frazier and Deloise Walker. She is also survived by a large extended family and a host close relatives and friends.
