Obituary
Of all beautiful things in life the most beautiful, is the character, and she who possesses a beautiful character is worthy of notice. A beautiful life is the fruit of a beautiful character; she whom we memorialize here at this time possessed a beautiful character, and lived a beautiful life, she died a beautiful death. She of whom I speak is the late April Celeste Jones.
She was born October 1, 1966 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to Mrs. Pauline W. Jones and the late Mr. Simon N. Jones.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School in Goldsboro, NC in 1985 and attended college at Central Piedmont Community College.
For over 20 years until she retired she was a dedicated employee of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools where she worked as a Behavior Management Professional, she also worked as an independent contractor with Mecklenburg County and other private provider agencies, the last of which was Developmental Disabilities Resources, Inc.
She was a proud member of True Way Church of God In Christ. She involved herself heavily in fundraisers and really enjoyed being a part of the 49 and under fellowship group, she also really, really enjoyed the spiritual guidance she received from her pastor and first lady, Elder Darryl T. Johnson and Missionary Theresa D. Johnson.
She departed this life May 23, 2016 at her home in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father Simon N. Jones and her sister Ingrid C. Williams. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Sarobbi C. Jones; her mother, Pauline W. Jones; two brothers, Reginald C. Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina; Brandon C. Jones of Raleigh, North Carolina and one sister Kecia C. Jones of Charlotte, NC. She leaves Uncles and Aunts: Joel Miller, of Petersburg, VA; Mark Miller, of Peterburg, VA; Tracy Miller, Houston, Texas; Cedric (Leatrice) Peyton of Columbia, SC; Oscar Peyton of Washington, DC; Raymond (Mildred) Peyton of Oklahoma City, OK; Sherrell Peyton, Janice Buchanan and Kimberly Peyton of Bogulusa, LA; Louetta Applewhite of Fremont, NC and Daphne Lewis of Wilson, NC. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins: Brandon Williams, Taheshia Williams, Makeal Williams, Dawnya Williams, Markus Williams, T. Christopher Jones, Tosha Peyton, LaShaunda Peyton, Beunca Peyton, Christopher Buchanan, Sonya Buchanan, Loretta Bunch, Lamont Kornegay, Porsha Applewhite, Monica Applewhite, Lahomma Kornegay, Sonda Applewhite, Wanda Applewhite, Topeka Applewhite, Clarky Jones and Rozita Jones White, and too many other family members and friends to list by name but all of whom loved and needed her so.

Remember Our Love
I was chosen today
I’m learning to fly
the world took me away,
but please don’t you cry.
And I chose you today
to try and be strong
so please don’t you cry
and don’t say that I’m gone.
When you’re feeling alone
just remember our love.
I’m up near the stars
looking down from above.
Remember our love
in a moment you’ll see
that I’m still here beside you
when you’re thinking of me.
