Audrea Lashun Ford

In Remembrance

Audrea Lashun Ford , a resident of  Indian Trail , NC was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the age of 51 years old.  On October 23, 1966, Audrea was the 3 ^rd child born to William Curtis and Hermoine Elizabeth Simmons in Greenwood, MS.

At an early age, Audrea joined the Wesley United Methodist Church in Greenwood, MS. She graduated Salutatorian in 1985 from Amanda Elzy High School in Greenwood, MS. She was a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She further pursued her passion for nursing at The University of Tennessee, School of Nursing where she received her BSN.

On April 6, 1996, she was united in marriage to Eric Lavern Ford where they began their lives together in Charlotte, NC. To this union was born two children, Erica Elizabeth Ford and Eric Andre’ William Ford. During Audrea’s career, she practiced as a registered nurse at Carolinas Healthcare System, West Mecklenburg High School as a nurse and educator; and additionally as an in-home care provider. She had a gift for working with children and a knack for tending to those with special needs.

Audrea enjoyed teaching, singing, and gatherings with family and friends. She also loved animals, especially her dogs Luke and Jack.  Most of all she enjoyed traveling to the mountains. Audrea was a soul like none other, with a spirit that filled every room. She will be greatly missed by her friends, her family and those she cared for.

Left to cherish her legacy are her husband Eric L. Ford, daughter Erica and son Andre’, sisters Yvonne Vietta Lewis (Michael) of Memphis, TN, and Sandra LeNette Simmons-Boyd (Jordan) of Charlotte, NC, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
