                                                                            Obituary                                                              Augusta Allen Waddell Person                                                        March 23, 1923-December 4, 2017 Augusta Allen was born in Moore County NC. The 3rd of eleven children born to Ella Robinson Allen and Andy Allen. She departed this life peacefully in the early morning hour of December 4, 2017.Augusta was married to the late Edward Wallace Waddell Senior (EW), her college sweetheart. To this union were born 3 children: Edward Jr. (Eddie), Phyllis and Kermit. Later in life she married Samuel Person of Southern Pine, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel, son Eddie, Edward Waddell Senior and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Phyllis, son Kermit, grandson Kerry Willis, devoted niece Deborah Waddell Brooks and a host of other nephew friends and her care taker of five years Kathy Hunter. Augusta was educated in the Moore County, NC City School System. She graduated as Valedictorian of her High School Class. Augusta went on to attend A&T College (State University) earning a BS Degree and a MS Degree from NC Central University. Additionally she acquired a six year Certificate in Education Administration as an undergraduate, Augusta was initiated in to Delta Sigma Sorority Inc. Augusta was a lifelong educator, a profession she loved and excelled at. She began her professional career as a Home Extension Teacher in Dublin County, NC. She taught in Stanley, Forsyth and Moore County, NC School Systems and at Palmer Memorial Institute in Sedalia, NC. Mrs. Persons was named teacher of the year in Moore County in two different years. In retirement Augusta enjoyed tutoring children and adults, reading and baking. She was very active in her religious organization as a teacher, choir member and board member. Augusta was; a proper, gentle, gracious, beautiful women; a wonderful loving mother; a devoted spouse; a loyal friend. Thanks be to God for the life of Augusta Waddell Person.
