"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14: 2-3
A Time to be Born
On April 4, 1960, the breath of God blew upon the earth, and once again woman became a living soul. As God exhaled, He gave life to the daughter of the Late Harvey Norman and Late Lillie Hanson. On Saturday, February 19, 2022, God inhaled and called Barbara Norman from her earthly cares and toils... He called her back unto Himself.
A Time to Grow
Barbara was the one of 6 children who was born in Charlotte, NC. Over the years, she has given generously to those in need. She paid for groceries for starving families; moved families into her home who had nowhere to live. She gave up her real estate business to become a caregiver for our mother over 15 years ago. Barbara remained a full-time caregiver until diagnosed with cancer. And still provided support until stricken with radiation sickness. For over 61 years, she loved unconditionally and gave abundantly. She was pure in heart; she had a heart that feared and loved God and wanted to do the things that bring God glory.
A Time to Learn
Barbara graduated from Independence High School in 1978. She worked at Phillip Morris for multiple years. Afterwards, she obtained her life and health insurance licensing. Later, she developed a passion for the real estate business. She established her own business and was successful.
A Time to Live for God
Barbara was appointed by God to be a Faithful member of Second Calvary Baptist Church for more than 35 years. She was a member of the gospel choir.
A Time to be Remembered
Barbara was very dependable, trustworthy and a lover of people. She always wanted everyone to get along and to allow peace to be in the midst of whatever was going on. She prayed for unity amongst all. She aspired to be the best that she could be for Jesus and to accomplish with excellence the mandate that was upon her life. She stayed before the Lord, asking him to "order her steps in they word and let not any iniquity have dominion over her." She committed her walk and life to God with a promise to live a consecrated life before the Lord and His people.
A Time to Love
Barbara was blessed with one son: Stevie J. McClinton. And she was blessed with one grandchild: Talanie Council. She loved her son and granddaughter and they loved her as well. She consistently stayed in touch with her siblings. The love for her family was very imprtant. She will surely be missed by all who knew her.
A Time to Mourn
