Ms. Belvintine L. Gray entered eternal rest on Friday, May 7, 2021, at her residence in Charlotte, NC. Tina was born on December 28, 1950, to the late Fred Lawrence and Beulah McClain Lawrence.
Tina attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, graduating from Olympic High School in the class of 1969. As a young girl she attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J.C. Robinson. She had an extraordinarily strong love for her nieces and nephews, family, and friends. Tina was a devoted employee of Shoney's Restaurant for over 25 years until she retired. She was best known for her style of dressing from head to toe (she could pass for Tina Turner). She was a feisty, sassy, and spicy lady that lived her life her way.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Bernard Gray; two brothers, Alex Lawrence and John Lawrence; and two loving cousins/sisters, Elizabeth Murphy and Rhonda B. Caurrothers.
Tina leaves to cherish her memory, longtime companion Quintin Russell of the home; special nephew/son Michael Beasley of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughter Kia Russell of Smotherville, GA; one sister, Millie McDowell of Charlotte, NC; one sister-in-law Joretta Lawrence of Charlotte, NC; three step-grandchildren, Karson Russell, DJ Russell, Dallas Huling and Donald Huling of Smotherville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
