Bernise Ford

Bernise Sims Ford went home to be with her Heavenly Father on the evening of August 12, 2017. She was born on August 26, 1918 in Macon, Georgia. Bernise was preceded in death by her parents, her son Walter Thomas Sims, and husbands Fred Sims and Robert Ford. Bernise is survived by one granddaughter, Melodye Bernadette Sims Heath (Fred); 4 greatgrandchildren, Naudica, Michael, Noah, and Mekyla Heath whom she lived with until her final days; longtime family friends Lisa Hathcock (Todd) and family. There are many more friends and people that loved and cared for her as well. Bernise attended Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church faithfully until she was unable to attend because of health reasons. Bernise was a respected woman. She was a caring mother, grandmother, loyal wife, and a gracious spirit; at the same time, she could set you straight in a loving way, of course! In her younger years, she was artistic and creative. She made pillows, pottery, clothing, and anything else you could think of. Her gifts and talents were just a few of the things that made her special. Those memories will continue to dwell in the hearts of all who loved her.
