Bettye Davis-Mccain

Bettye Davis McCain entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Bettye was born June 5th, 1942 in Waynesboro, GA and was the daughter of the late George and Alberta Singleton Davis. She is survived by her husband, Franklin McCain, Sr, her three sons, Franklin Jr (Vicki), Wendell (Lori) and Bert (Keisha), six grandchildren, Taylor, Mac, Davis, Charles, Alayna and Amanda and by her sisters, Gwendolyn Kettles, Shirley Peek, Joan Washington, Joyce Bennett, W. Dorothy Davis, Pamela Daniels and Daisy Porter. Bettye is a graduate of Bennett College and served as an educator and Principal with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system for over 30 years. Visitation is Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 3:00pm at Friendship Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte NC 28216. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bettye D. McCain Scholarship Fund at Bennett College in Greensboro N.C. Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.
