Carl J. Alexander

Carl Justus Alexander of Charlotte, NC was born on January 16,1953 to Charles Ellis Waddell Alexander and Willie Bell Reid Alexander. Carl met his love, Annie Hampton, and they married on October 10, 1976. Carl and Annie completed their family with the blessing of two daughters, Carla Nekisha Alexander and Terri Annette Alexander, granddaughters LaKiya and Ja’Miya, grandsons Jacob and Caleb, and great-grandson Kyhan.

He was a faithful and active member within his church home of Haven of Rest Baptist Church. He was devoted to serving on the usher board, hymn and men's choir, and trustee board. The church was later renamed as One Way Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Barrington Johnson, which joined with New Zion Baptist Church where he continued his membership. Carl loved serving his community and church family from the heart and through his hands of carpentry. His true hobby of peace is fishing, which he shared with many friends, including his grandsons Jacob and Caleb.

On December 21, 2024, Carl reunited in heaven with his daughter, Terri after her untimely death 30 years ago. Also preceding in death is his father, mother, and twin brother Charles. A true believer, selfless, and strong, Carl Alexander’s life was fulfilled. Between family and friends, he would show up and support no matter the distance. Forever in our hearts the memory of Carl’s smile and joy will be with us.
