Carlton Victor Cartier

June 12, 1963 — August 28, 2021

Carlton Victor Cartier was born June 12, 1963, in Manhattan, New York to Cherry Victor Cartier and Vernadine Lowe Cartier. He returned to his Lord on Saturday evening, August 28, 2021, in Charlotte, N.C. He spent his early childhood in the Bronx until age 6 where he attended Riverdale Country School.  His family moved to Roosevelt, Long Island where he attended The Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. As a child he developed his passion for music by playing the drums in his school parades. He later transferred to Roosevelt High School where he graduated. Carlton attended Nassau Community College in Long Island, NY where he developed his passion for technology. He moved to Atlanta in 1993 and then settled in North Carolina in 1997. He went on to Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC where he continued to grow his talents in technology. He worked for BHC / Logistics Supply for about 9 years. Carlton then went to work for Oxco, Inc. in Fort Mill, SC as an Account Advocate.

Carlton was a member of The Park Ministries since 2008. While at “The Park” he enjoyed praise and worship and the uplifting word from the Lord. You would often see Carlton with his Nikkon DX digital camera around his neck as he enjoyed taking pictures to capture various outings with family and friends. The pictures he took made memories that will last a lifetime. Carlton had a passion for anything “Star Wars” related and “Peanuts” by Charles Schultz themed. You never received a birthday greeting from Carlton without a picture of Snoopy in it. He was proud of the “Cartier” family name and often showcased “Cartier” branded items.  Preceding Carlton in death is his father, Cherry (aka “Sherry”) Victor Cartier. He is survived by his mother Vernadine Cartier of Huntersville, NC, 3 sisters, Chervern (aka “Aaliyyah”) Cartier of Smithtown, NY, Cherie Melson (Lamarr) of Lake Wylie, SC, and Claire Cartier-McDonald (Alexander) of Charlotte, NC, brother-like friends Oscar Dill of Charlotte, NC and Keith Washington of Atlanta, GA, 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 4 grandnieces, 2 grandnephews and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
