Carolyn Cathey

Carolyn “Joyce” Hunter Cathey, daughter of the late Roger “Buster” Hunter and Katherine Norman Hunter was born December 5, 1960, in Anderson, SC.  However, she was raised by Bobbie Talley and late Maggie Norman Talley as one of their own at a very young age. She departed this life for her eternal resting place on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in the comfort of her home.    “Joyce” was known for her love of music and sense of humor. She will be remembered most by her affectionate smile and contagious laugh. “Joyce” loved life and lived it to the fullest. She rededicated her life to Christ and became a new creation with love and support from a very special friend and sister in Christ, Carol Brock.    “Joyce” leaves to cherish her memories three amazing sons, Dameon Hunter, Jerome Hunter (Erica), Jamario Cathey (Robin), all of Charlotte; eleven grandchildren: De’Montay, Za’Miah, Jaquavious, Antoine, Jamil, Derrick, Jamario (Big Red), Jada, Pri’Asia, Jamichael and Moriah; one great grand: Amora; siblings: James (Pete), Linda, Dorothy, Kenneth, Lester, Michael and Betty Jean. As well as her extended siblings; Eddie (Wayne), Fred, Judy (Louise), Charles and Carol (Chell) Talley and a host of nieces, nephews, and other love ones. She has two siblings that precedes her death Lula Mae (Nesice) and brother Roger Anderson
