In Loving Memory of Carson Atkins Carson Atkins, born on April 15, 1954, in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Carson peacefully transitioned from this life on November 14, 2023. He was the beloved son of the late Christa B Atkins. Carson graduated from Southview High School in Fayetteville, NC. In 2005, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a contractor for Halliburton, taking him to various corners of the world, including Germany, Thailand, Djibouti, Iraq, and Dubai. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Carson had a passion for experimenting with new dishes and delighted in sharing his creations with friends and family. His love for cooking was a testament to his adventurous spirit and creative soul. Carson was also a compassionate and dedicated volunteer at St. Marks United Methodist Church and New Shiloh Baptist Church, where he selflessly gave his time and energy to support his community. Carson is survived by his sister, Annetta Alderman, and nephews Michael Alderman of Charlotte, NC, Reginald Alderman of Atlanta, GA, and John Burns (Chance, wife) of Wilmington, NC, niece, Kisha Atkins of Fayetteville, NC, and dear friends Larry and Cheryl Watts. Carson is preceded in death by his brothers, Archie Atkins, and George Atkins. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May Carson Atkins rest in eternal peace, and may his family and friends find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him. A celebration of Carson’s life will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 917 Clanton Rd. Charlotte, NC 28217 with the Rev Aldana Allen, Officiant. Visitation – 12:30 pm and Funeral 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church or New Shiloh Baptist in Carson's honor.
