Charles Henry Hamilton III was born in Charleston, SC, on December 15, 1943. He spent his youth in Wilmington, NC, before becoming enlisted in the United States Army. He completed basic training in Fort Jackson, SC. He went on to become a decorated Sergeant, E5, in the army, and later served his country in Vietnam honorably. His honors include: the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal for Wartime Service and Support of Military Operations in Vietnam, the Combat Infantryman Badge for fighting in active ground combat while serving in an assigned infantry or special forces capacity, and 2 Overseas bars. After serving his country, Charles lovingly married several times and had children. He cultivated his creative mind and held multiple positions at more than one Fortune 500 company, and was even the top salesman for the prominent NC Mutual Insurance Company while in Wilmington. Years later, he moved to Washington, DC, and attended the District of Columbia University and earned a Master's Degree with Honors. Following that, he moved to Charlotte, NC, where he resided until his passing. Charles Henry Hamilton III loved life and lived life to the fullest. He leaves us with many stories and bountiful, wonderful, delightful memories and moments to enjoy and love for forever and one whole day. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Hamilton, Jr., in 1974, and Margaret Green Hamilton in 1988; siblings, Barbara Weems in 1989, Cornelius Hamilton in 1987, Andrew Hamilton in 1997, and Frank Hamilton in 2006. He is survived by his children, Rosalyn McKoy, Kevin Hamilton, Charles H.
