Charles “Tack” Griffin Nail, Jr., son of the late Charles and Annie Nail, Sr. was born in Charlotte, NC on June 17, 1950 and departed this life September 7, 2024 at Accordius Health, Concord, NC. Charles graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1968. He then traveled the world serving in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged he proudly worked as a Master Welder. He later worked as a certified Facilities Maintenance Technician with Greystar. He was an avid reader. He had a passion for learning, sharing knowledge and discussing theories with others. He also loved spending time with family and friends, being a handyman for the family, fishing, hunting and serving the community. Charles is survived by his two daughters: Monica Nail-English (DeVane) of Rio Hato, Panama and Antavia Nail Cherry (Dwayne) of Charlotte, NC; three siblings: Carolyn Nail Shipp (William) of Huntersville, NC, and June Nail Leath, Ronald E. Nail all of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren: Brandon Cherry, Christa Nail, Aaron Cherry and Christian Nail all of Charlotte, NC. Nieces and nephews Kelly Webb (Callie), Crystal Shipp, Dr. Dawn Nail, Kimla Jones (Mark), and Maurice Shipp (Melissa), as well as a host of cousins, family and friends who will all miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Annie Nail, Sr. his sister, Rev. Angela Nail Webb and brother Keith Nail.
