Clarence Devonn Anthony

June 11, 1981 — June 10, 2024

Mr. Clarence Devonn Anthony, son of Diane Anthony and the late Clarence Jordan was born June 11, 1981 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Clarence peacefully departed this life for heaven Monday, June 10, 2024. Clarence was preceded in death by his father Clarence Jordan and his grandparents Bennie F. Anthony, Jr., and Sophie L. Anthony.

Clarence accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and savior, received the gift of salvation at Adams Metropolitan AME Church while attending with his grandmother Mrs. Sophie L. Anthony. Years later, Clarence and his wife Taneeca Renee Grier Anthony were baptized while attending The Church of Christ and their children witnessed this special occasion.

Clarence received his early education through Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and attended Olympic High School then proceeded to get his diploma at Central Piedmont Community College. He later went on to receive his HVAC certification and his CDL license.

Clarence was the business owner of a CDA Carrier Service for four years. While also running his own business, he was employed 9 years at “Carolina PressureWash”. The superintendents on site applauded his performance, and developers also always requested Clarence for jobs of importance.

Clarence and Taneeca locked eyes in February 2006. A powerful love which manifested that prevailed against all odds. They were married December 31, 2012 and shared a fairytale marriage for the past 11 and a half years! With this union they established a family of six beautiful children and their pet dog “Cooper”. Clarence believed in “family first”— “Anthony Strong”. He was an amazing husband , provider, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. His legacy will go forth through the love of his wife, mother, sister, brother and children.

Clarence enjoyed traveling with his wife and children, riding his jet ski, and was a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. He had a love for reading and a love for anything with numbers and finance. The children lovingly called Clarence “The Big Man.”

Clarence leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife Mrs. Taneeca Renee Grier Anthony, his mother Diane  Anthony, his sister Mrs. Tawanda Anthony Mathis(Robert), his brother Corey Chancellor, his children: Camari Dashaun Anthony, Amarah Destiny Grier-McAllister, Kevin Dwayne Clint McAllister, Jr., Camya Diane Anthony, Cayden Demere Anthony, Cai Devonne Anthony; also the family pet dog “Cooper Devonn Anthony” (all reside in Charlotte, NC). Additionally, he will also be missed by his in-law’s, sister’s Candise Huskey and Cayla Grier, and brother Jon Huskey. He also leaves a nephew, niece, aunt, uncles, cousins, and friends.
