Clarice Moore

February 16, 1941 — December 5, 2024

Clarice Walker Moore, born on February 16, 1941, passed away on December 5, 2024. She was one of seven children of the late Clara Walker of Meridian, MS.

Clarice grew up in Meridian, MS where she met her husband of over 30 years, John H. Moore. They moved to Los Angeles, CA, where they married and raised their four children before eventually returning to Meridian, MS.

Clarice was a loving and devoted mother, known for volunteering at her children's school and attending all school activities and sporting events. She motivated her children to become outstanding members of society, providing them with many opportunities she did not have, ultimately ensuring all four of her children attend college. After her children were older, Clarice's ambition led her to return to school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She successfully completed her studies and worked in the healthcare field until she retired to help raise her grandchildren in North Carolina.  She loved to travel until she could no longer physically but, was an avid reader, and loved to play games with friends and family.

Clarice is preceded in death by her mother, Clara Walker, and siblings Arthur Gathright, Elsie Thedford, Peggy Gordon, Sarah Nell Barfield, and Frances (Honey) Walker.

Clarice leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her sister, Eloise Walker (Meridian, MS); daughters, Janet Marie Moore (Greensboro, NC), Patricia Lynn Johnson (Cedric) (Charlotte, NC), Latrice Annette Turner (Charlotte, NC); son, John H. Moore Jr. (Grandview, TX); grandchildren, Cedrick Moore (Lisa), Cori Johnson, Neah Hubbard, Zane Johnson, Lauren Turner, and Christopher Turner; great-grandchild, Indigo Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
