Clement Brewer Jr.

January 10, 1933 — February 20, 2025

Born into a loving family, Clement was the second eldest of five children to Vergie and Clement Brewer, Sr. He carried a deep sense of duty from an early age, leading him to serve his country in the United States Air Force before pursuing higher education at Barber-Scotia College. His commitment to service extended beyond the military, as he dedicated decades of his career to Cannon Mills and later the United States Postal Service, where he faithfully served his community until retirement. Clement was united in holy matrimony to Polly Williams. This union was blessed with 65 years of love and happiness and 1 child. A true gentleman of his generation, Clement was the epitome of reliability, integrity, and devotion. He had a great sense of humor, and he took immense pride in the simple joys of life—meticulously shining his shoes, keeping his cars spotless, and caring for his yard with precision. He found peace in driving, cherished the sound of 1950s gospel music, and found comfort in his favorite television shows. But above all, he was a man of deep faith, serving diligently as a Trustee at The Park Church, where he and Polly were dedicated members, giving their time and hearts to their faith and community. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife Polly, his brother, Edward Brewer, Sr. and his three sisters, Carolyn Scales, Hazelene Johnson and Adelaide Carter. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Clement A Brewer III, (Delois) of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Clement McKinley (Ashley) of Mint Hill, NC, and Brittney Johnson of Dallas, TX; two great-grandchildren, Cannon McKinley and Cohen McKinley of Mint Hill, NC; two sisters-in-law, Martha Brewer of Charlotte, NC and Nellie W. McMullen of Willingboro, NC; nieces and nephews and a host of family members and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and steadfast spirit. Clement was a pillar of strength and love—a faithful servant, a devoted husband, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend and a man of honor. While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with Polly, walking hand in hand once again. His life was a beautiful testament to service, love, and unwavering faith, and his memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Clement Augustus Brewer, Jr. Your legacy of love and faithfulness will never be forgotten.
