Curtis Fullard Sr.

Curtis D. (Sonny) Fullard Sr., departed this life on October 23, 2020 peacefully at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. He was born on May 11, 1941 in Timmonsville South Carolina to the late Clarence Fullard and Beatrice Green-Fullard. He graduated in 1960 from Johnson High School in Timmonsville, SC. He was drafted into the army in 1963, where he served as a long distance truck driver in Germany. He received an honorable discharge in 1966. Curtis was a member of the Chaney Grove Baptist Church in Timmonsville, South Carolina. After high school he relocated to Duquesne, Pa., where Sonny met and married the love of his life, Elaine Smith-Fullard. They were married for 57 years. To this union they had two daughters and five sons. Curtis loved his family and provided them with the best life possible. Curtis was employed at Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh, Pa, for 23 years. Curtis loved fishing, gardening, sports and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed talking and spending time with his lifelong brother, as they called each other, Gabriel (GB) Bradham. They stayed in contact throughout the years. God Blessed Curtis, Elaine and the family to relocate to Charlotte North Carolina in 2008, where they enjoyed creating new memories and living in their dream home. Curtis was preceded in death by his father Clarence Fullard, his mother Beatrice Green-Fullard, brothers: McKinley “Kin” Fullard, Clarence “June” Fullard Jr. and James “L” Fullard, sisters: Earlease Woods, Celeste Green, and Ardella Germany. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife, Elaine Smith-Fullard, daughters: Vivien Fullard and Amber (Malik)Fullard, sons: Curtis D. (Sybil) Fullard Jr., Kevin (Trina) Fullard, Terrance “Dre” Fullard, Jamar Fullard, Breon Fullard, and his beloved nephew Van Smith, who is like a son. He also has 10 loving Grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters Annie (Joseph) Ham and Febry “May” Fullard both of Pittsburgh, Pa and Shirley (Otto) Ham of Florence, SC.,. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving relatives and friends. Live Streaming will be available the day of the Services on Alexander Funeral Home Website at 4pm.
