Curtis L. Simms

Curtis Louis Simms was born to Ashley Simms and Annie Knight Simms in Wilson County, North Carolina. He resided in Charlotte, North Carolina. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19,2024 at Novant Hospital in Huntersville, N.C.

Curtis attended the schools in Wilson County, especially the former Charles H. Darden High School, he graduated in 1954. He went to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and after college he lived and worked in Washington, D.C. He retired from the Department of Labor.

Preceding Curtis in death were: his parents, Ashley Simms and Annie Knight Simms, his sisters, Mildred D. Simms, Annie Frances Parker Horton, Beatrice “Polly” Parker-Diggs, three brothers, James Simms, Leslie Simms, Ashley Simms Jr.

Curtis leaves his love and memories to be cherished by his wife Brenda J. Simms (Charlotte, N.C.) his stepdaughter Nina Johnson-Travis (Gary), Anderson, S.C.; one sister, Trumiller B. Clark (Clinton, MD) brother in laws ,Carnell Johnson, and Marvin Ponds (Rochelle) (Charlotte, N.C.) one special niece, Reverend Donna Simms Pulley (McCoy), Middlesex, N.C. one special nephew Reginald Simms (Brendina), Newport News, Virginia ;and a host of other nieces,  nephews, relatives and friends.
