Daniel Hunter, Jr.

“Honoring the Life of Daniel Hunter Jr.”     Daniel Hunter Jr. was born October 29, 1941 in Charlotte, NC to Daniel and Naomi Hunter.  Daniel also known as “Danny” graduated in 1959 from West Charlotte High School in Charlotte, NC. Seven months after graduating High School, Danny and several of his friends drove to Los Angeles, CA looking for more and better opportunities which he found and thus decided to make it his home.  Danny worked hard and became the owner of Danny’s Muffler Service in 1972. He was highly respected by people in the community and even some of his competitors. He developed many friendships which have lasted fifty years or more.  Danny joined membership at Puente Hills Baptist Church in Covina, CA. In 1978 he gave his life to Christ as a mature adult and with his mother present was baptized. Danny has truly walked with God ever since accepting Him as Lord and Savior.  Danny’s free time was spent building and racing cars and motor cycles with his car club. He had a passion for “tinkering” with cars and considered himself an expert in wielding and auto mechanics.  On Thursday, August 31, 2017 Danny departed this life. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, 2 sons, Ricky Gaskin and Daryl Gaskin, 7 grandchildren and 6 great children; 4 sisters, Natilon C. Hunter, Hattie B. Jones, Judy H. Kilgo, Gloria Thomas and a host of other relatives and longtime friends all in Charlotte, NC and Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Naomi Hunter, 2 sons, Gregory Gaskin and Lewis Hunter, 2 sisters, Naomi Jones and Vivian McCain and 2 brothers, Ralph and Roy Hunter.
