Darrell Nixon, 63, of Charlotte, NC, transitioned from this life on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Carolinas Medical Center, due to stroke-related issues. His soul is at rest—no more pain or isolation. A Charlotte, NC, native, Darrell was born on February 24, 1957, to Donal Nixon and Floyd Ivey Nixon. He graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1975 and attended college at Central Piedmont Community College. Darrell had a sharp mind and quick wit. He loved to laugh and bring a smile to whomever he came into contact with. He was a talented artist, an avid music lover, a true Trekkie, a serious Marvel fan, a sports car fanatic, and a lover of banana pudding and sweet tea. He could debate politics with enthusiasm, and he was a dependable co-worker and employee at Amazon. He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly Jackson Nixon, his father Donal Nixon, and his mother Floyd Ivey Nixon. He leaves behind his sisters, Cathy Nixon Cherry (William) and Julie Demby Ray (Hilton); his nieces, Kimberly Jean Cherry, Katrina Lynn Cherry, Michele Rene Demby, and Denise Christine Demby; his soul mate, Laverne Banks; three aunts, and a host of cousins and friends.
