Mr. David McCummings was born in Forsyth County to the late Claude and Brownie McCummings in Winston-Salem NC. Mr. McCummings quietly and peacefully passed away January 23 , 2019 at Presbyterian Hospital.
Prior to moving to Charlotte NC he was a member of Packwood. He was educated in Forsyth County Schools.
Mr. McCummings was a proud Veteran who served 15 years in United States Navy. He was employed by True Haul Trailer Co. as a welder before retiring.
He was preceded in death by two step daughters: Patricia Belk and Lynn Belk of Charlotte NC, two Brothers: Harold McCummings and Claude McCummings of Winston Salem NC.
Mr. McCummings took time to enjoy life: gardening, cooking and spoiling his granddaughter Tiffany (the apple of his eye). He was a talker, about many things and places which he had visited all over the country. It was said about Dave, if you went to visit him at his home “take a listening ear”; He would barely give Mary or anyone a chance to respond to what he had to say.
Mr. McCummings is survived by a loving and caring companion of fifty plus years, Mary B. Crawford of Charlotte, NC, one dedicated granddaughter Tiffany Neal (Da’ni) Maddox of Charlotte, two daughters one of Winston Salem NC, Barbara Hart (Davert Baker) of Charlotte NC. One Brother Donald Ray McCummings of Winston Salem, two sisters: Jackie Black and Beverly Sallars of Winstom Salem, NC. There are many other grand and great grand children, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
