Dr. Nosakhare Osasu Idehen

May 1, 1970 — December 14, 2023

Dr. Nosakhare Idehen, 53, left us on December 14, 2023. He was born May 1, 1970, in Benin City, Nigeria, to John Iyo Idehen and Janet Evbaikhin Osemwenkhae. He moved to the United States from Nigeria in April 1996.

Nosakhare's early years in the United States were spent in Charlotte, North Carollina. Embarking on a career and academic voyage, he navigated other parts of the United States and the Philipines. Living in Charlotte, however, left in him fond memories -- the vibrant atmosphere of the city, the historic neighborhoods, the diverse culinary scene, weekends at the Freedom Park, and the occasional visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame added a unique touch to his time in Charlotte, hence he requested to be buried in Charlotte, and not Tampa where he resided before his passing.

Behold, he was an intellectual luminary, a relentless seeker of knowledge who had ascended the academic peaks, adorned with a plethora of degrees, culminating in the illustrious PhD – the apex of scholarly achievement. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Our Lady of Fatima University, Manilla, Philippines; a Master of Health Administration degree from Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and a PHD in Public Health from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also had two Bachelors degrees in Nursing (Manilla, Philippines) and in Geology (Benin, Nigeria)

He was a friendly wizard, who spread kindness and made friends everywhere, from different corners of the world. Yet, at his core, he was like a cherished haven for his family, always full of love and warmth.

He was a dedicated community champion – an unwavering force during Florida's  hurricane Elsa in 2021. He toiled tirelessly on the front lines, offering a helping hand and embodying resilience in the face of adversity.

He is survived by his mother and his sibblings -- Edna Idehen, Pa John Idehen, Esosa Idehen, Leo Idehen, Irene Agbebire, Osaze Idehen, Rita Idehen, Benedicta Osaze, Osaitie Idehen and Daniel Idehen.

Dr. Nosakhare Idehen will be remembered for his remarkable conviviality and congenial nature, effortlessly fostering a positive atmosphere in every interaction. His deep-seated desire for peace resonated through his actions, as he tirelessly worked towards creating harmonious environments. Driven by an unwavering commitment to his ideals, he left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy extends beyond professional achievements, touching the hearts of many through genuine connections and a relentless pursuit of a better world.

He will be sorely missed.
