Eddie Jerome Robertson, 50, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on February 16, 2024.
Born in High Point, North Carolina to Otis Robertson and Gwendalyn Robertson, Eddie was passionate about football from the beginning. He graduated from High Point Andrews High School and went on to play football at the University of Virginia where he earned a BA in psychology. Eddie was an accomplished sales executive, spending years at Aerotek, Dunn and Bradstreet, Cannon Wheel/Afco and Redi Carpet.
Eddie met Brandi Hutchinson at church in High Point. They married in 2004 and had two daughters Erin and Olivia. Eddie was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. If he wasn't attending a Mallard Creek basketball or volleyball game with Brandi, or serving as a deacon or with the security team at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, you could find him in his backyard on the grill - cooking and talking - sharing his food and his wisdom with those closest to him.
He filled a room with his presence. To meet him once, you know his bright smile, big voice and commanding stature. A walking encyclopedia, he would strike up a conversation on just about any topic. He was intellectually curious, had a host of hobbies and interests and was a lifelong learner. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother Gwendalyn Robertson, grandmothers Feama Robertson and Dorothy Crenshaw, grandfather Eddie Robertson. He is survived by his wife Brandi, daughters Erin and Olivia, father Otis Robertson (Gloria), brothers Roy Lee Johnson and Adrian Johnson (Jennifer), sisters Vivian Mays, Letita Rawlings (Joseph), Bernita Alston and Sandy Alston, mother in law Brenda France and sister in law Erika Harden (Anthony) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at noon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Eddie J. Robertson Memorial Fund for Erin and Olivia so their father's presence is felt as they go off to college and during life's future milestones.
