Edrenna Ellerbe Cousar “Bigma”, of Charlotte, North Carolina born April 3rd, 1920 went Home peacefully Saturday, September 12, 2020. She was born in Dillon, South Carolina to the late Wade McCall and Cora Ellerbe where she was raised. At an early age, she joined New Holly Methodist Church where she served in many areas of ministry. In 1939, she married the late Frank Cousar. In 1950, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where she did domestic work for many years with an emphasis on cooking, which was her specialty. She soon became a disciple of St. Paul Baptist Church initially under the spiritual leadership of the late Rev. James F. Wertz and continued under the leadership of Dr. Paul W. Drummond and Dr. Gregory K. Moss where she was a member of the Hymn Choir and served on the Missionary Board. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Cousar, her mother Cora Ellerbe and her father Wade McCall, one brother Don. L. McGill, sister Gertrude Ellerbe McIntyre, sister Katherine Ellerbe Legette, nieces Gertrude Ellerbe, Donnella Reid, and one nephew, Spencer McGill. She is survived by her loving grand-daughters Octavia and Felicia Ellerbe of Charlotte, NC; Robin Ellerbe Glenn (Fredrick) of Kannapolis, NC; great granddaughters Rontechia Ellerbe, Tykeria Tillman, and Brittany Nelson of Charlotte, NC; great grandson Brandon Martin of Charlotte, NC: great-great granddaughters Sariyah Ellerbe-Burch and Zaylasia Martin, great-great grandsons Josiah and Jaiden Ellerbe; Braelynn and Bryson Nelson of Charlotte, NC; niece Sallie Mae Madison, nephew James McGill of Charlotte, NC; great-nieces Ann and Lindal McGill and Wanda Chancellor of Charlotte, NC; great-nephews Donald Mitchell and Walt McGill of Charlotte, NC; adopted niece Willie Mae Palmer of Charlotte, NC; and caregivers Ms. Harriett Owens and Ms. Wafa Ataiwi both of Charlotte, NC.
