Edward Kirkpatrick

Edward Alexander Kirkpatrick, Sr., was born June 7, 1928 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He departed this life on December 19, 2013, at Hunter Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Charlotte. NC. He attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, NC. He furthered his career as a Commercial Truck Driver and later became a Master Tire Technician for various tire companies within Charlotte, NC. Upon his retirement, he started his own janitorial business within the Charlotte metropolitan area. Edward was married to Ethel Hankerson Kirkpatrick of Charlotte, NC for 67 years and they had five children. He leaves to cherish, wife Ethel, three daughters, Stephanie McCoy, Elaine Simpson, Donna Alexander (Roney) all of Charlotte, and two sons Edward A. Kirkpatrick Jr., of Charlotte and Keith Kirkpatrick of Germantown, MD., two sister-in-laws, Addie Mae Mitchell and Florence Hood, and two brother-in-laws, Robert Hankerson and Calvin Hankerson (Raye) all of Charlotte, NC, 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11am at First Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 11. Burial will be in Forest Lawn West.
