Elizabeth Marlene McClinton, 77 of Charlotte, passed peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2013. Visitation will be 6 to 7 on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Alexander Funeral Home, 1424 Statesville Avenue. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at York Memorial Park , 5150 S. Tryon Street in Charlotte. Pastor Lisa Oates with In Time of Need Ministries will officiate. Ms. McClinton graduated from Denmark Tech, Claflin College and Winthrop University. Among other professions, she was an educator, having served in Greenville County South Carolina Schools and at Johnson C. Smith University. Ms. McClinton was the youngest of nine children born to Albert and Irene McClinton of York, SC. She is survived by her loving son, D'Markus Emmanuel McClinton of the home; one sister, Marie Hill and a host of family and friends. Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.
