Evette "Yvette" Martin

Evette Martin (aka Yvette) passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. Yvette was born on May 12,1965 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was the youngest of eight siblings. She was employed with Nevins Center Inc. for many years. Yvette smile would light up any room she entered. She participated in the Special Olympics and won several medals and trophies. Yvette enjoyed music, loved to sing, and dance. She was known for her beautiful voice and bright charisma while dancing on the dance floor in her wheelchair.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Lousie Martin, father, Spurgeon Martin Sr., Maternal grandparents, Henry and Maggie Martin, Paternal grandparents Mitchell and Phyllis Glover and Nephew, Eric Martin.

Yvette’s life will continue to be celebrated by her family. The family includes six sisters; Wanda (Charles) McConico, Patricia Johnson, Patricia (James) Lane, Diane Martin, Jacqueline (Conrad) Mason, and Angela Martin.; Two brothers; Spurgeon Martin Jr. and Aundray (Robin) Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
