The Life Journey of Geraldine “Geri” Littles

Her Favorite Saying: “When it is all said and done, nothing else is going to matter except did we do what God told us to do.”

Geraldine Littles was born on Friday, June 13, 1952 in Cordele, GA, the first of seven children born to the union of Jerry Lee and Beatrice (Sanders) Harrell.

After her family relocated to Florida, she received her formal education in Miami-Dade Public Schools. Upon graduating from Miami Killian Sr. High School in 1970, she was awarded a college scholarship in mathematics.  On January 29, 1971, Geraldine married Raymond F. Littles of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  One son, Raymond Tyrone (Rachel) Littles of Durham, NC was born to this union.

Geraldine’s unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father was the foundation upon which she built her life.  She was baptized into Christ in 1964 at the Coconut Grove Church of Christ, where her family has attended for over 60 years.  She faithfully served the Lord in numerous congregations throughout her life, including Golden Heights Church of Christ in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Sugar Creek Church of Christ and University Church of Christ, both in Charlotte, NC.  She was a talented singer and participated in various congregational gospel singing groups. Listening to gospel music was her favorite pastime.

Geraldine was employed by Southern Bell in 1971 as a Directory Assistance Operator.  After a long, fulfilling career, including numerous promotions over the course of 35 years, she retired from Bell South in 2006 as an Electronic Technician.   She was a talented decorator and event planner, and operated Silhouette Enterprises, Inc. with her sister, Diane, for 30 years.

Geraldine was a very loving and giving person who nurtured and supported her family – especially her siblings. On Christmas, she loved to dress as Santa Claus and distribute the gifts!  She truly loved and enjoyed life, her family, her grandchildren, and her career.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  Revelation 21:4

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Charlotte, NC, with Tyrone and Rachel by her side, Geraldine answered the Lord’s call to rest from her labor and prepare to receive her heavenly crown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Harrell, Jr.  Those left to cherish her memories include her devoted son, Raymond Tyrone Littles, her daughter-in-law, Rachel, and her grandchildren, Raegan and Ryan (all residing in Durham, NC); former husband, Raymond F. Littles, Anderson, SC ; four sisters: Diane Harrell, Miami, FL ; Reba Okolo, Huntersville, NC ; Joyce (William) Maddox, Miami, FL ; and Lisa (Samuell) Pounds, Winter Haven, FL ; one brother: Marcus (Brenda) Harrell, Sr., Miami, FL ; aunts: Merdice Wooten, Ethel Mills, Ethel Grier ( all of Miami, FL ) and Easter Sanders ( Cordele, GA ); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and sorrowing friends.
