Geraldine Torrence Powe, 90, peacefully departed this life on December 29, 2012. She was born December 5, 1922 to the late Louie and Marie Torrence. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte on Sat., Jan 5, 2013, family hour at 11 a.m. and funeral at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Anita Stroud Foundation, 1920 Stroud Park Court, Charlotte, NC 28206 or Marizetta Kerry Child Development Center, 3301 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Arrangements are in the care of Alexander Funeral Home.
