Gloria Jane Hicks

Dr. Gloria W. Hicks, age 63, passed away Thursday July 11, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center (Pineville). She was a daughter of the late Pauline Williams & Leevorgia Fraley. She was born May 27, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hicks was a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, Beaver College which was known as Arcadia University and Philadelphia High School for Girls. She moved to Charlotte to complete her Medical Residency Training. She continued her career with The State of North Carolina as a Physician with Children's Developmental Services Agency of Concord N.C. and Monroe N.C. until her retirement in 2013. Gloria was a member of Park Church South where she enjoyed serving as a Greeter and also a Mentor for young adults. A Memorial to Celebrate her life will be held at Park Church South at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 13733 Lancaster Hwy # 521 Pineville N.C. 28134 Bishop Claude Alexander will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the Memorial. Dr. Hicks is survived by her husband, Frank Hicks, sons Sutton & Trevor Hicks, brother, Howard Washington, sisters Barbara & Deborah Washington and many nieces & nephews.
