Gloria Howze-Washington

Gloria Howze Washington Sims of Manhattan, N.Y., age 62, formally from Charlotte, N.C. died on her birthday April 8, 2014 in New York.  Born April 8, 1952 in Charlotte to Mrs. Mae Pearl Martin Howze and the late Theodore Howze, Sr.   Gloria was a strong and courageous woman who loved her family dearly.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart.  Gloria will always be remembered by the attractive smile that was consistently exhibited upon her face.     Loved ones that have gone on before her include her father, Theodore Howze Sr.; husband, John Sims, sisters;-Brenda Howze Weeks and Constance Howze.       A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 19th, 2014 at Faith Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis R. Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends at Noon and the Celebration of her life will begin at 1:00pm.       Many left with fond memories  includes: Her loving mother, Mrs. Mae Pearl Martin Howze; daughter, Mrs. Quintina Washington Andre  ( Salomon Sr.); son, Nathaniel Washington Jr. (Nikki) ;  eight brothers, Michael Howze, Theodore Howze Jr. (Gloria) , Zachary Howze, Gregory Howze, Anthony Howze (Neece), Daryl Howze Sr. (Dee) , Anthony Potts, Jeffrey Potts (Regina);  three sisters, Cynthia Key (Howard) "Pete",  Pearline Howze (Ralph) and  Therese "Rita" Howze (Reggie) ; eight  grandchildren,  Curtis Washington, Monica Heyward, Monique Washington, Molika Washington, Murray Washington, Quinisha Andre, Salomon Andre Jr., and  Samuel Andre and Sixteen great grandchildren.  aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors who will always remember her.   In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
