Zion Church in Concord NC Mrs. Gwendlyn Ann Drye Hitchcock (Gwen) daughter of the late Harvey Lee Sloan and Zula Pauline Dryewas born in Mooresville NC, on October 14, 1951 and was called back to her heavenly home on April 29,2019 at 1:58 pm, at the young age of 67.Gwen attended Logan Senior High in Concord NC for all of her education until her senior year, whereher, along with her entire class of 1969, where moved from Logan to Concord Senior High, to finish outtheir education. After finishing one year of college, Gwen began work utilizing her skills in sewing. Finallyafter 51 years in the workforce, Gwen retired in 2012 to help raise her grandchildren.Gwen was united in Holy matrimony TWICE, to the late Jimmy D. Hitchcock of Charlotte NC. To thisunion they had two children, Jamaal Demetrius Hitchcock and Jamica Shenita Hitchcock, both ofCharlotte NC.Gwen leaves to cherish three grandchildren, Kanyae Berry, Kamaya Imani Berry, and Norris Guest-Hitchcock, all of Charlotte, NC. One stepson, Johnathan Ellison, Charlotte, NC, Five god daughters(Nieces), Carmen Davis, Avis Earl, and Amanda Tramaine Singleton (Thomas Joseph Singleton) all ofConcord NC, Kristie Yates (Tyrone Yates) of Radcliff, Kentucky , and Donnetta Lavern Brown of Charlotte,NC. Two sisters, Maxine Drye Johnson (late John Johnson) of Concord NC, and Laura Josephine Lorrick(late Micheal Lorrick) of Charlotte, NC. Two sister-in laws, Sarah Ann Faulkner (late Rev. James Faulkner),and Delena Mae Harris both of Charlotte, NC. Her beloved best friends (Ya-Ya sisters), The late Mrs.Evelyn Long, of Salisbury NC, Jean Caldwell, Shirley Stanback, both of Kannapolis, NC, Verna Shipp andShirley Phifer of Concord NC, Brenda Steele of Harrisburg NC, and Linda Starnes and Helen Bennett bothof Charlotte, NC….
