Hazeline Pickens Howard

April 28, 1933 — June 27, 2021

St. Hazeline Pickens Howard was born April 28, 1933, in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Bro. William Pickens, Sr. and St. Minnie Pickens. She transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, June 27, 2021. St. Howard was affectionately called “Ganganie” by her grandchildren and great-grandson.

St. Howard attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools graduating from West Charlotte High School in 1951. After graduation, she attended Nursing school for two years in Washington, DC while staying with her grandmother, Sis. Addie Scott. St. Howard later moved to Germany and lived there for several years before returning to the states. She was a former employee in Sterilization Processing at Carolinas Medical, now Atrium Health.

St. Howard’s name was put on the role of The United House of Prayer for All People at birth, and she received the Holy Ghost and Fire at an early age. She dedicated her life to the House of Prayer and was always willing to do her part. She was a Flower Girl, Mountain, and House Maid for Precious Daddy Grace where she served faithfully. She was on the Youth Choir as a young girl and was also an original member of the McCollough Notes along with her mother, St. Pickens. She loved to sing and was also a former member of the United and Jubilee Choirs. St. Howard became an original member of the Junior Adult Ushers and later became a member of the #3 Ushers until the club members' health began to fail and was no longer an auxiliary. St. Howard also served as a former booster of the Young Adult Mass Choir when it was first formed. She was forever grateful to be anointed a saint by Precious Daddy McCollough in 1989. After working with the #3 Ushers, she became a proud member of the Junior Business Board of Charlotte Mother House until her health failed. She took pride in working in the House of Prayer and staying all day as she had been taught as a child.

She was a long-time member of Christian Workers Chapter No. 301 - Order of the Eastern Star - PHA - Newell, NC, Supervisor of Beulah Bost Gleaners No. 29 - State Grand Order of the Eastern Star Youth Department, David Austin Court No. 4 - Order of Cyrene Crusaders - PHA - Newell, NC, and Zack Alexander Assembly No. 35 Order of the Golden Circle - PHA Southern Jurisdiction.
