Henriette Mbolongo Bawana

Maman HENRIETTE BAWANA MBOLONGO was born on December 14, 1937 in Mbiongo, Congo Central in the Democratic Republic of Congo to the late Bakongo Simon and Ntete Sophie. Our community sadly lost a pillar on October 19, 2021 when Maman Hanriette passed away at the age of 83 years young.

Maman Henriette Bawana Mbolongo became a widow on February 16, 1976. She and her husband had nine children but she is survived by three children, Anny Nsuasami Diamond, Nsimba Bakala and Nzuzi Bakala Nsenga; four grandsons, six granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

Maman Henriette Bawana Mbolongo was a Christian. With her tremendous work ethic, faith in God and strong values she raised children with Christian principles who went on to become great fathers, mothers and role models. Around her neighborhood she was known as “Mother To All.” Not only was she a wonderful mother to her own biological children but she raised many other children and helped families in need.

After the Lord and her family, Maman Henriette’s greatest joy was her church family where she worshipped, celebrated and acted out her faith involving herself in many activities over the years such as Bolingo Group of Charlotte. Despite the physical limitations that come with age, she rarely missed a Sunday service. She cherished her friendships and was the definition of joy, love and comfort to many in the church and community. The lives of all she touched were made richer and are now emptier without her presence. An ordinary life, lived in an extraordinary manner.
