Herman Lee Burns was born on October 3, 1936, in Whiteville, North Carolina, to Willie and Ethel Burns. On Monday, January 4, 2021 at 4:21, God saw the load was getting heavy and Herman received his wings to leave this earthly tabernacle to be with the Lord. Herman Lee Burns received his education from the Columbus County school district and received his high school diploma from Central High School. With Herman’s many talents and his generosity showed to many, he left an everlasting memory in everyone’s heart. Herman retired after 32 years from Haverty’s Furniture Company. He took his job seriously and became a “master whiz” on the road. Meeting and making friends on his journey. No one was a stranger and he treated them with kindness and gratitude. Herman Burns was a faithful member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC. He served on the Male Usher Board and was an avid member of the Sunday School Department. Jesus Christ was the center of his life and he followed his commands. Herman Burns met and married the love of his life, Minnie L. Bizzell, on April 13, 1996. Every conversation Herman had he expressed the love he had for his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings (Rosanna Gore, Annie Lee Young and Eloise Robinson) He leaves to cherish his memories: his lovely wife Minnie Burns; two sons, Larry Register of Whiteville, NC, and Renard (Jay-Cheree) of Richmond, TX; two daughters, Crystal Duplessis (Yves) of Charlotte, NC, and Rhonda McLean (Charles) of Whiteville, NC; two sisters, Crettie Jones and Mary Jamieson (Henry); three brothers, Claude Burns, Elbert Burns (Juanita), and Joseph Elps (Gisela); 10 Grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
