Idelrie Harper

March 17, 1940 — August 14, 2020

Mrs. Idelrie Bland Harper, daughter of the late Emmanuel Reid Moore and late Walter Ella Moore was born March 17, 1940 in Charlotte, NC. She departed this life and entered into her heavenly eternal rest on August 14, 2020 at Atrium Hospital-University. Idelrie attended school in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, graduating with the class of 1958 from West Charlotte Sr High. She extended her higher learning in Greensboro, NC with a degree in education from Bennett College in 1962. She returned to Charlotte, NC and pursued a lifelong career as an educator for 31 years in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. She was married to the late Robert C. “Buddy” Bland in July of 1964. From this union came son Robert Moore Bland. Buddy preceded her in death in 1983. In January 1987 she united in marriage to the late William “Bee” Harper who preceded her in death in February 2010. Idelrie has been a member of Greater Bethel AME church all of her life. She served faithfully on the choir, trustee board, stewardess board, cub scout den mother and was instrumental in overseeing the church’s first summer school enrichment program. She loved her church and was very dedicated until she became ill. She was also a member of the civic national group, Las Amigas Inc-Gastonia chapter for 35 years. The group is dedicated to serving the community. During her membership she served as president for 2 years and treasurer of the local chapter. She was also crowned National Queen of Las Amigas in 1992. She loved her family, friends and enjoyed entertaining guest. She was a traveler, was in a bowling league for many years and had the spirit to help anyone who was in need. Leaving to cherish her memories; son Robert Bland (Rosalind), daughter VickieThomas, brother Reid Lee Moore, granddaughter Raegan Bland, niece Alisa Moore-Woods, great nephew Micah Woods, God daughter Charmayne Morrison, God son Matthew Morrison and a numerous host of other relatives and friends
