Jackie Louise Moore was born to William Laudis Moore and Hazel L Moore on June 19, 1947, in Cleveland County, NC. While attending college at NC A&T, Jackie met and later married Fredrick Cook. In 1972, they welcomed a daughter, Melody.
Jackie was always driven and ambitious, and she encouraged others, especially her daughter, to be the same. The more a goal seemed out of reach, the more she was driven to achieve it! Jackie was known for her dedication, always sharing her knowledge and resources with others. Her commitment to excellence ensured a better quality of life for those around her.
Jackie's professional journey was a testament to her tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit. She founded and owned Carver Management, Federal Adjustment Bureau, and Centurion Realty and Management. Her career spanned nearly five decades, starting in Columbus, Ohio, and later expanding to New Jersey and North Carolina, where she excelled in commercial property management and rental screening.
Jackie's vibrant personality was not limited to her professional life. She had a keen eye for fashion and a passion for dressing elegantly. She pursued her love for fashion with her retail store, Jackki's Hosiery & Apparel.
Jackie was always busy ensuring things were done, no matter how small or large. On June 17, 2024, the Lord called her home because her work on Earth was finished and done well.
Jackie is predeceased by her parents and sisters, Peggy Floyd, Shirley Cauthen, and Sandra Burton. She is survived by her daughter Melody Cook Smith, son-in-law Dennis Smith, grandson Andre Smith, bonus son Marvin Baker, sister Polly McKee (James), brother Shaward Moore (Kym), best friend Emma Flewellen, nieces Erika McKee and Alisha Harper, and many other beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Jackie is eternally at rest at the Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum & Cemetery in Charlotte, NC.
