James Dawkins, Jr.

James Dawkins, Jr., was born in Cheverly, MD, on July 18, 1981, and relocated to Charlotte, NC, in 2011. He attended Fairmount Heights HS. He married Lawanda Vaughn on September 17, 2018. James was a member of First Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he served on the Churches Aide and he was a member of the Man Cave. James was a family man, hardworking, warm-hearted, and could make everyone laugh. He was a loving, supportive husband and father. James was one of the kindest people you would ever meet and will greatly be missed. James is survived by his loving wife Lawanda; two children, Lateron and Nevaeh Dawkins; godchildren, Ansley Spring (Harlee) and Jaden Bradley; father, James Dawkins, Sr. (Robbie); grandparents Jake and Rosa Lee Miller; siblings, Tony, Lamont, Shawn, Pierre, Donnetta, Tanisha, Donald, and Darius; a host of aunts and uncles in the Dawkins family: Evelyn, Diane, Eunice, Jacqueline, Bonnie, and Andre; a host of aunts and uncles in the Miller family: Joanne, Diane, Annie, Roy, Andrew, and Andre; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews that he held close to his heart; in-laws Paulette Vaughn, April Gregory, Linda Vaughn, William Vaughn, Delena Vaughn, and Anthony Vaughn (Sabrina); godbrother Donta McKay (Virgie), and godparents William and Phyllis Young of Maryland, and Garfield and Tina Evans of Charlotte, NC. He is preceded in death by Marylee Miller, mother, and Vivian Dawkins, grandmother.
