July 31, 1928 — March 3, 2021

James “Nunny” Moore was born on July 31, 1928 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He departed this life on March 3, 2021. He was born to Ms. Jessie Mae Moore. Called the “Jack of All Trades,” James resided for most of his adult life in Charlotte, NC, and lived in the Atlanta, GA, area in later life. At 17-years-old, he joined and served in the U.S. Navy as a Steward’s Mate and Head Steward and received the WWII Victory Medal. He also sung rhythm and blues and owned his own record label with songs such as “Never Forget,” "My Tender Love,” and "Bouquet of Roses,” just to name a few. He achieved his dream of building, owning, and operating several restaurants, being known for his” Nunny Chicken.” After he retired from the City of Charlotte for 25 years, he traveled. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Nina and Lorraine, and three sons, James, Tim, and Veardo Moore; first cousins, Patricia Ferguson, Marsha Robinson, and a host of grand and great grandchildren. James’ tremendous faith in God was unfaltering. His biggest accomplishment was being a great father and will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
