James M. Taylor

James Michael Taylor, affectionately known as Michael to his family and JT by his friends, was born on September 16th, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York to the Ola Mae Taylor and the late James Elbert Taylor.

He was called to his eternal home at the age of 60 on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 while under Hospice Care.  James was the youngest sibling of three and the only boy.

Michael spent his early years in Brooklyn, where he developed a love for the city's energy and diversity. He graduated from Tilden High School, where he played football and made many lifelong friends. As a child, Michael gave his life to Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY where he sang in the choir and participated in youth events such as the Lott Carey Conventions.

Later, he moved to Atlanta, GA, where he continued to build his life and career. From 2005 to 2016, Michael worked for Lab Corp, where he was known for his hard work, commitment, and the positive impact he had on his colleagues.

About 4 years ago, Michael made Charlotte, NC his home. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his ability to bring joy to those around him, and his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. Michael enjoyed having a good time and was known for his cheerful response, "Fantastic and Amazing," whenever asked how he was doing.  He had purchased a 3 wheel motorcycle and joined The Queen City Slingstottaz.

He leaves behind his mother, Ola Mae Taylor, his sisters Sheila Wright (husband Kevin Wright) and Deborah Taylor, nieces Tiffany Taylor and Liana Rankin (husband John Rankin), nephew Andre Taylor, great-nieces Peyton, Jaida, and Soñai, and great-nephew Jaxson.  His Godparents Herbert and Dora Bond along with other family and friends.

Michael's legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, dedication, and love. May he rest in peace.
