Janice Marie Murray

Janice Marie (Neal) Murray, 64, returned to her heavenly home on January 24, 2021, after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and friends, and her belief in God supported her in this struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Janice was born on August 8th, 1956, to the late Luke & Mary Louise (Barbour) Neal in Hart County, Kentucky. Janice was the fifth born of ten children. Janice was blessed with a large and loving family. In 1984, she married Gregory M. Murray. To this union, one son, JaRay M. Murray, was born. Janice was a District Attorney's Legal Assistant with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office. Janice is survived by her husband Gregory Murray; her son, JaRay (Shereka) Murray; stepson, Lemonte Hervey; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; six sisters: Sarah (Thomas) Grider, Edna (Ross) Hayes, Hazel (Joe) McKee, Belinda Sue Neal, Patricia Neal-Williams, and Deborah Neal; one brother, William Henry Neal; and a host of nieces & nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Luke & Mary Neal; grandparents, Burton & Annie Barbour; sister, Anna Mills; and brother, Bedford Neal. Although we love Janice, God has said that she has labored a long good life here on earth. The time has come for her to have eternal life with Him in Heaven.
