Jeanette "Baby" Smith

Jeanette “Baby” Smith was born on October 21, 1967 to Johnny and Nannie Smith. She was educated in Charlotte Mecklenburg County Schools.  She was born in Chesterfield, SC and raised partly in Wadesboro, NC and later made Charlotte, NC her home.

Jeanette accepted the Lord at an early age. She attended Greater Gethsemane AME Zion Church in Charlotte, NC under Pastor George Bagger.

She was a very loving parent and loved spending time with her only daughter, Nicole, and her grandchildren. She was very loving to friends and family. She would always have a beautiful smile on her face and a laughter you couldn’t forget.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Emma Little, paternal grandparents Hattie Mae F. Adams & William G. Smith, her brother James R. Smith (AKA Fatboy) and 2 nephews Timothy Smith and Robert Smith and a niece Shakeitha Smith.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory, 1 child, Nicole Smith (Lafayette Lockhart), 6 grandchildren: Katrina B. Smith, Zaria A. Howze, Cherise I. Smith, Angel N. Howze, Zake V. Howze and Harmony D. Lockhart. 2 great-grands: Jacking Smith, 4-years-old and Nasir Ivey, 3-years-old, all of Charlotte, NC. Both her parents: Nannie Smith of Charlotte, NC and Johnny Smith of Wadesboro, NC. 4 Siblings: Lucille Smith of Charlotte, NC , Johnny Smith (Sandra) of Charlotte, NC, Lois T. Smith of Charlotte, NC, Lisa M. Smith (Angelo) of Charlotte, NC. 2 Aunts: Mamie I. Lee of Wadesboro, NC and Lorain Smith of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
