Jennifer R. Ellis

Jennifer Rochelle Ellis transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, March 17, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1963, in Wilson, North Carolina, to the late James Matthew Ellis and the late Minnie Bruce Sharpe Ellis.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, James Matthew Ellis and Minnie Bruce Sharpe Ellis, as well as her brother, Gregory Nelson Ellis.

Growing up in Wilson, North Carolina, Jennifer attended James B. Hunt High School, where she was a proud member of the cheerleading team and graduated with the Class of 1981. She went on to pursue higher education, first attending UNC-Greensboro and later earning her degree in Business Management from Shaw University.

Jennifer’s professional career began at American Express in Greensboro, North Carolina. She subsequently worked for Sears in Chicago, Illinois, before joining Nielsen. Eventually, she found her professional home at CDK Global, where she remained dedicated.

A devoted member of New Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, Jennifer served on the Ushers Team. Additionally, she was an esteemed member of the Zeta Theta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., having been initiated in the fall of 2023.

Jennifer will always be remembered as a nurturing, generous spirit who never met a stranger and required no introduction. Her boundless kindness and willingness to give extended to all who knew her. She found immense joy in cooking, baking, and sharing meals, and she lived her life to the fullest, cherishing her family and friends above all.
