Jennifer Parker Harden

Jennifer’s Journey Jennifer Parker-Harden was born on December 4,1959, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Born in Lancaster County, South Carolina, Jennifer was the daughter of Betty McGriff Howard and the late Leander McGriff. Jennifer grew up in Charlotte, NC, a city she loved and never left. Jennifer graduated from Olympic High School within the top of her class. She attended East Carolina University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance. She went on to achieve her Master of Business Administration from Wingate University with Honors. While employed with Clear Channel Radio Station for 20 years as Controller/Business Manager, she continued to expand her education by becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and certified as Human Resources Manager (HR). Life events later brought Jennifer to Dick Broadcasting Radio Station as their Chief Financial Officer. This union combined her keen analytical skills, strategic planning insights, and ability to “get things done”. While assisting in the expansion of this company, Jennifer built long lasting relationships with her congenial personality. Her motherly and big sister interactions served the company and the staff she managed. Her kind and warm demeanor welcomed all types of communication. Throughout her career, Jennifer continued to grow in knowledge and in skill by working with H&R Block as their CPA and initiating her own public tax business. Jennifer was a very compassionate person who touched the lives of everyone she met. She loved family and friends to the fullest. She was a loving mother and most importantly she valued her time with family. She was a giver! She was a Jewel. To know her was to love her and she will be missed by all. Jennifer leaves to cherish her memories and love her dedicated and loving husband of 34 years, Leroy aka “Harden”; two sons, Marsheo (Portia, wife) and Jaylan; one daughter Gabrielle; Mother; Betty Howard; brother Donald McGriff (Jackie, wife) and sister Angelia Brown (Chance, husband); Sister-in-love, Latrell Watson of Maryland; two nieces, JaMika Watson and Leyuana McGriff; two nephews, Jazzy Watson and Galen McGriff ; four grandchildren; Zorian, Tobias, Breyanda and Novian; one god grandchild: Logan and a host of family and friends.
