Jeremy "JB" Alexander Brown, 28, was born in Mecklenburg County on August 18, 1985 to Dennis and Sandra Brown. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Jeremy graduated from West Charlotte High School in Charlotte, NC and NC A&T University, with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. Jeremy attended St. Paul Baptist Church. Upon graduation from NC A&T he moved to Columbia, SC, where he established a business franchise with Scentura Creations.
Growing up, some of JB's creativity shined when he excelled in drama classes, played basketball, and even won an award at an oratorical contest where he was recognized by Stedman Graham. While in college, he moved on to showcasing his creative gifts by performing as a lyricist for evening audiences in Greensboro, NC. JB performed by his stage name of J King, showcasing his musical talent while performing some of the 30 songs that he authored. Although he enjoyed expressing himself musically, his lifetime goal was to find the ideal job in business and sales management.
Upon his return to Charlotte, while looking for other business opportunities, he kept busy working in customer service, construction, loading/unloading trucks, and at one time as an inventory supervisor at DMSI. The apple of JB's eye was his only niece, Lailah. She lovingly called him "Superman," as she often witnessed him loving and caring for his family and others. JB is greatly known for "coming to the rescue" of those who needed him. He was a great friend and confidant, and was considered by many to be their best friend, as a result of his infectious humor, character, and personality. His sister lovingly referred to him as "live" all the time.
