In Loving Memory of John Wesley Phillips Jr.
John, affectionately known as JJ, Junior or Jay, 68, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on March 16, 2025.
John made his entrance into the world on September 20, 1956, the only child to parents, John and Mary Phillips, who absolutely loved and adored him. John attended West Charlotte Senior High School and worked with his Dad at M&P Auto Parts as a Mechanic and Parts Runner shortly after.
John was a very smart and talented man. He loved music, being a piano player, bass guitar player and drummer. He loved a good jam session, and he loved to sing! He played in several bands over the years and would even get in on a gig every once in a while. John would often sit in his room for hours, learning to play his favorite songs on his keyboard. He also loved Fishing and a good Cookout!
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Phillips. He is survived by his long time companion, Cynthia, his children, Van, Shea, John III, Jerel, and his bonus children, Renika and GeNorris. His Aunt Rosena and Aunt Frances. The Mother of his sons, Donna, and childhood friend/Brother Kent Tolliver. Also, to cherish his memory are his Grand Children, Great Grandchildren, cousins and associates.
For those who knew John and loved him, this is a great loss. He is already missed. He loved hard and unconditionally.
