Johnny Garfield (Colebean) Coleman, 59 passed away on January 9, 2014 at home. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 18th, at Parkwood Institutional CME Church, 802 Tom Hunter Rd., Charlotte, NC at 1:00 pm with the visitation one hour prior at 12:00 noon. Alexander Funeral Home is entrusted to serve the Coleman family.
Johnny was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He graduated from Garinger High School, attended CPCC, then joined the United States Air Force with an honorable discharge. He was employed for 23 years with the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT), and employed for the Carolina Panthers Stadium Cleaning Staff.
He was a member of Parkwood Institutional CME Church.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Phyllis E. Coleman, two sons, Jonathan and Christopher Coleman, his mother Mrs. Angela Coleman, 5 sisters, Gail Grier (Gene) of Miami, Florida, Angela Able, Lauranice McCullough (Crayton, Sr.), Veronica Rayford (Kenneth) and Cynthia Wadley (Edward) of Suffolk, Virginia, 1 brother, Thomas Coleman, Jr. (Renee), 4 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas L. Coleman, Sr. and aunt Lucille Boyd.
