Johnny "Simon" Jones Paint Contractor 4/27/36 - 2/12/14 Johnny Jones, 77, went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2014 at Presbyterian Novant Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. His battle with cancer and other health challenges were truly a testimony of the keeping power of the Lord. A celebration of his life will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Casey Kimbrough officiating. Johnny is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Rosa Johnson Jones, three daughters, Lelia Smallwood (Everett), Linda Williams (Milton) and Loretta McLaurin (James), one son, Jonathan B. Jones (Veronica) and seven grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Zechariah Alexander, Sr. Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers and memorials donations can be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Interment will be in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
